Aaron J. Hill is a multidisciplinary artist residing in Seattle, WA. His work ranges from ceramics to printmaking to digital art (and more). “Art is therapy for me. It is often meditative. Putting your hands in clay, massaging it, experimenting, and having a creation come out of it, perhaps something organic, or perhaps something more planned, is both healing and fun. My brain often jumps from place to place, idea to new idea. Path with Art classes can help me focus. I have been doing portraits of my ancestors and relatives for many years. It is a way of honoring and remembering them. Sleeping on the streets is often brutal and tiring. Path with Art provides an escape from that dreary world, if perhaps only for a few hours. However, with the new ArtHOME space, people can get away from the chaos and the weather more frequently. When I was living in a tent city, Path with Art was my only positive encounter with the world. Caring staff, teaching artists, and creative mentors brought me back from a life of despair and renewed my hope in humanity. Many participants say that Path with Art has saved them — from depression, from loneliness, from domestic violence. We, together, have created a little community here in Seattle. Along the way, I have made many friends. That is why I support Path with Art. I hope you will, too.”
