Leigh is a multidisciplinary artist who had spent the majority of their life in the Midwest, before finally transplanting to Seattle. They consider this move to have marked the beginning of their ‘real’ life, which is now a continuing journey of healing, exploration, and challenging self-expression. Leigh’s artwork often centers around identity and catharsis, working to slowly untangle and repair trauma. In this exploration, they often use symbols pulled from the biological and natural worlds, as well as using figures such as dolls and monsters. For them, words and emotions are difficult to understand, but they can use art to communicate back and forth within themselves, and then share this experience with others.
