B is a multidisciplinary artist and long-time Path with Art participant artist. B believes that creating art has the power to change perceptions, and is an essential tool for self-expression, especially for those who have experienced trauma. B says, “I saw this project as an opportunity for giving a voice to those who couldn’t speak or are living in silence. Working with the Path with Art community, they always have my back. Without that support of being valued as a person, I wouldn’t be here today. Their support shows me what I can’t see, and tells me what I need to hear, so I can begin to believe that there is hope for me. I am not defined by my history of homelessness. I am defined by my present – creating art.”
